  • There’s no such thing as a Suzuki jeep.
  • There has been such a thing as a Suzuki jeep since 1979, where have you been?

Reliable enough and not too dear to run (although they’re not that economical) and they’re excellent small off-roaders but they’re awful cars to drive on the road.
Very slow, excruciatingly uncomfortable, noisy, cramped inside, borderline dangerous on motorways…. If you want one to go off-roading and you can’t afford a Land Rover they’re great but I’d never recommend one for road use.

  • Don’t listen to pedants trying to be smart-alecs. Everyone knows exactly what you mean by a Suzuki Jeep.
Yes, the Vitara and Grand Vitara models are quite good for small off-roaders, especially in terms of value. 4×4’s are expensive, but Suzuki’s are less so. They are not in the same league as heavyweights like the Toyota Landcruiser, VW Touareg, or Mitsubishi Shoguns, but I suspect you don’t need a heavyweight model. The Suzuki will fit the bill, and still give you reasonable MPG. Try and buy as new a model as you can.

  • Cannot help but go with Evelyn’s description of the Suzuki Jeep. May not fully agree with the dangerous bit, lets just say interesting.

The wife had one, they are phenomenal off roaders. see – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKE_mvTx0…

We had no problems with reliability.
