Most of the Amish get their income from selling things, be it crops, cabinetry, puppies, etc. When the economy prevents people from buying or lowers prices, they’re definitely affected. Luckily, they have a great community system where the whole community supports each other; if one family is faltering, the community steps in to help.

    However, they usually dont do the non-realistic speculations such as getting loans for buying several properties at a time, so they should not have the credit crisis like many people have.
