Can you tell me if my dog as reached puberty as recently she as become scared of certain noises and trains?

The other day i was out walking my german shepherd who is nearly 8 months old and as been ok with noises before
Suddenly she bolted and ran off when she heard a trains horn
Since then i was told to confront the fears and go back to the trains with her on lead to get her used to it.
However i tried this and she was worse than ever and tried every thing ti escape
I tried treats comforting her nothing worked
When we got home she was wreck slobbering fluids and pacing up and down
She was a total mess
Its over 2 hours since returning from the walk and she is not her normal self although she as had her meal
Is this puberty and will it go away
Do i need to go to the vets for medication

Why would you take her back when it stressed her out the first time?

I don’t think this has anything to do with puberty as much as it does with personality. Some dogs just don’t get use to certain things (Most of my dogs are still afraid of the Vacuum after all these years).

Also, the sound of the train may be hurting her ears or something. I would try not to expose her to that if you don’t have to. But then again it may go away but then it may not. If it is not important then I say, why bother.

Remember, you are this dogs pack leader and she looks to for safety. Protect her.
