Both brands have good & bad. Lenovo’s ThinkPad T-series are considered one of the best made laptops, if not THE best. (% lower warranty repair rate than all other large manufacturers)
But the IdeaPads are pretty much mainstream garbage. That being said ThinkPads are business laptops – not really made for things like listening to music, watching movies, etc. They are rugged and dependable.
Dell’s XPS line is supposed to still be good, not % sure though. Their Latitude line used to be considered real good. All other is junk and they have pathetic customer service.
I’m in IT, so naturally im anti-apple (computers for idiots) but what you are wanting – a macbook pro running boot camp w/ win would be great…
NO OFFENSE, but only a completely uneducated person will shop for laptops by brand only.
Dell sucks big time, Lenovo is a very solid, good brand (used to be IBM before).
Just look at the specs vs price, forget about the brand name.

Neither. Dell is a piece of crap and a rip off. Thinkpads are good but using it for intense PS work or gaming isn’t a wise thing to do.
Build your own PC.

Also , avoid buying computers with AMD processors. These professors are slow ,
