Yeah, at a relative’s house. The unusual thing about that was that she disliked me at that point, completely. She thought I was a bad guy. However, that all changed after a while. Ha.
Not my spouse (yet), but I met him while I was dating his coworker. We were all at a party together and I thought he was really cute. After things with his coworker didn’t work out, I shot him an email and the rest is history.
And yes, it did cause a little tension at first just because of the awkwardness, but in the end everyone was ok with it.
Well, it’s common NOW, but I met my now husband on the IRC (an early version of chat rooms) in 1995. At the time, that was very unusual.
I met my future wife while on a camping trip (actually, an SCA event) with my girlfriend’s parents. She was the best friend of the daughter of a friend of my girlfriend’s (adoptive) parents.
We met hundreds of miles from home, but we lived about 70 miles apart. I dumped my girlfriend the day after I got home from the trip and the following weekend I visited my future wife.
And no, nothing happened the weekend I met her.
my first wife, i met her while i was selling cars… (i did this during school.. sold cars).. i sold her a car, ripped her off, and the car payment of $450/month became part of my bill, couple of years later. it could have been over 1$ less, if i didn’t rip her off… but then, i left her with over 2k in equity just so i can end the divorce. i walked away with nothing… best decision i’ve ever made, to walk away.
my wife now, i met her at a wedding, while i was dating my ‘transitional’ girl… she sat in our table, i took a picture of everyone on my camera, passed around a piece of paper for their email (so i can send them pics) and that’s how i got her email.. then i dumped my transitional woman when the divorce was final, and about a month after that, the girl from the wedding and I started emailing, then 2 weeks after that, we met up and rest is history.
I met my spouse in a grocery store.
I used to work at the customer service desk and he came in to complain about one of the cashiers who didn’t use his savings card to give him further discounts.It was love at first sight.
I lived in Russia for 1yr. working as a government contractor. The company had me a apartment rented in a very large apartment building (with no elevator). One afternoon I saw a very beautiful lady struggling with her grocery bags on the stairs, so I asked her could I carry them for her, and now we have been happily married for 10yrs.
Well, i’m divorced now, but I ment my ex because I sing. He was in a band, and my sister worked with the guitar player. I went to jam with them, and well……..20 years later i’m divorced. LOL
ummm i guess.. craigslist missed connection.. seriously.
i read them when im bored and work and need a laugh.. then one day there was one that just about described me perfectly.. i was a little shocked at first but then though what the hell and replied to it… odd.. i know
