Did Obama’s ancestors come from Alabama, like O’Brian from Ireland or o’clock?

@Ted Pack: I know a better one, even asked- with no response: What does this guy sing about Obama? Did it help to make him president?

Update :

  • His Obama ancestors came from Kenya. This month’s Smithsonian magazine has an article about them.

  • If you believe the song, There’s no one as Irish as Barack OBama

  • First of all, “o’clock” means “of the clock” which being interpreted simply means that “the time is…”.

O’ in O’brian means “grandson of”. See: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~…

http://www.irishcentral.com/roots/The-Top–Iris… says that O’Brian means “high, noble”.

Since Irish & Scttish people stem from the same groups (tribes) you will find many similar names in both Scotland & Ireland.

As to Obama’s ancestry, see: http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/obama-and-r…
