  • I cruise around the Great Loop every year, so I see this all over the place – from up & down the Atlantic ICW through the Great Lakes to down the Heartland river system. It’s a tough call.
If you and your buddy look like “kids” having fun and catching bait, and trying to sell it for a little pocket change – you can and will probably get away with that. . .
If however, you are obviously “open for business” day in and day out – you most likely will get ‘snagged’ and end up needing all kinds of permits and or a license.
I’ve also see kids selling live bait to bait shops (shrimp, mullet, fiddler crabs, etc.). They don’t generally have a lot to sell, so I’m sure the owners buy their bait mostly for the benefit of the kids.
  • you need a license to do or sell anything in this world. Why not go talk to a bait shop they may buy all you can come up with iff the price is right and most fisherman have bait when the leave the dock. They are not going to expect to buy itt off some guy at the inlet. They will all have it before leaving the dock.

  • Yes you will and a bait shop would not buy off you unless they wish to lose their licence as well!
