How has after having a baby can I get pregnant?

I had my son 6 weeks ago today. I have already had sex again but now I am afraid that I’m going to be pregnant again. I am not breastfeeding. Please let me know. Thanks

  • BE CAREFUL!!! your INCREDIBLY fertile right after giving birth!!!!!!!! you can get pregnant again very easily and very quickly but the body is not meant to be put under that stress again so soon and its not healthy! get BC ASAP!!!!

  • You can get pregnant right away, I got pregnant seven weeks after having my first and I was even breastfeeding. My children are nine months apart! Unless you want your kids nine months apart as well then you better start being careful. Use a condom or go on birth control. You should probably take a test to make sure you’re not already pregnant. Good luck.

  • You can actually get pregnant again before your 1st post pregnancy period! They say that the best time to get pregnant is right after you have delivered! It is really hard on your body to do that though so I would be using condoms AND some form of birth control too! Good Luck!

  • You can get pregnant right away. I have known women to go in for their 6 week checkup and be pregnant again already. Wouldn’t using birth control be easier/better than wondering about an unwanted pregnancy?

  • Some women can get pregnant after giving birth immediately. Some go in to their 6 week postpartum checkup and are told they are pregnant again.

    I’d use protection.

  • eh….. ok i think everyone answered this but i have to add one thing… BREASTFEEDING IS NOT BIRTH CONTROL!!! lol so many people have that in their head.. i have a friend who has gotten pregnant twice now while breastfeeding! i know you said that you’re not but yeah just so you know!
