The US legal limit of .08% is pretty high, I don’t suggest driving at that point if it’s at all avoidable. That being said, it depends a good amount on your tolerance. 40oz is in between 3 and 4 (12 oz) beers. Personally, I have a pretty high tolerance and I can withstand 2 beers with no problem and I would probably still feel comfortable driving after 3 beers (entirely depending on how I felt though). After that though, I would certainly want time to sober up. Your body processes alcohol at about a rate of 1 drink an hour, so that means that after 4 drinks, I would want to wait at least an hour, probably a bit more to be safe. So for 40oz, I would wait at least an hour and then see how I felt. If you’re in a situation where you need to leave at a strict predetermined time then I wouldn’t drink as much, just in case I was having a bad day and didn’t want to drive right away. Otherwise, I’d give yourself at least an hour, probably 1.5 hours, and after that, possibly wait a bit more depending on how you feel. There’s no shame in waiting, but there is shame in drunk driving.
40 ounces equals just over 3 beers. At your weight it depends on how long it took you to drink it. If it was over an hour I would say legally you might okay if you ate something first. Less than an hour then I would eat before driving and also kill atleast an hour. That’s by law. Assuming it’s .08 where you live.
Drink a bottle of water and about 2 hours
ir nonetheless criminal to rigidity after a million beer, as long as ur under .07, ur sturdy. and if ur nonetheless skeptical wait an hour. and if worse consists of worse and you do get pulled over , be a hundred pc ordinary with the cop, in the event that they question it. then they are able to needless to say scent it. cuz in case you lie approximately something thats obvious to the cop, then thats a sparkling set of problems
The medically “correct” answer is………that the average human body can assimilate 1 oz. of alcohol
per hour ( 1 12oz. beer or 6oz. of wine or 1 oz. liquor 80 proof mixed or straight ) per hour.
Your answer for 40 oz. of beer = 3 1/2 hours to be “completely” safe.

DUIs have become a money making avenue for states/counties. Why chance it? Take a cab, and get your truck tomorrow.
We need to lower the drinking age to 18, like every other country in the world.
Here’s a petition to do just that:
