How long will it take to grow my hair down to my bum?

I’m a guy and 26 years old and wanting to grow my hair down to my bum. My current style is chin length with bangs. I’ve worn it like this for the past 12 years and I’m sick of getting haircuts so I want to let it grow really long. How long should it take me to get it down to my bum and how long will it take to grow out my bangs? I want to get all my hair to one length?

This is the length it is now except the bangs are shorter: http://www.bobcut.com/hairstyle-photos/images/623070.jpg
This is how long I want it to be: http://www.longhair.org/whatsnew/Shellysm105.jpg

So my hair is quite thick and healthy and it grows fast but I still think it has more potential. Are there any tips or secrets to maximize growth and make it healthier so it’s soft, smooth and shiny and always looks great?

Thanks

i have long hair and it took that long!!!!!!

  • There is no way to make your hair grow faster. All you can do is to stop it from breaking which will make it “grow faster” because the ends won’t be coming off and such. The way to stop your hair from breaking is to brush it certain ways and such and importantly to get hair trims…sorry. For you to grow your hair to your bum it will take roughly 2 or more years because hair grows a half an inch a month.

  • I grew mine from about chin length to the bottom of my shoulders in 3 years. I’m 5.7. It takes a while, and some people are not capable of growing their hair that long. If your hair is thick and healthy you might be able to though. It will take at least 4 years though because that’s a lot to grow.

Make sure to get regular trims from a stylist you trust only to cut the very ends off. Let them know you are growing your bangs out and each time they’ll catch up with your hair a little more, but they will always be shorter unless you eventually lop off all the rest of your hair to match their length.

The best thing you can do for your hair is get all your nutrients and do hot oil treatments once a week.

I’m growing my hair that length myself, and have had it that length before

  • Down to your bum? Well, my hair grows pretty darn fast and it took me 3 1/2 years to grow my hair down to my bum from a short haircut. Growing out your bangs should take about 5 to 8 months. Good luck.

  • Basically to make your hair grow faster, might be to a minimum, since we really cant control how it works. therefore there is some natural remedies and products out there to help a certain amoun of percentage. Mane and tail shampoo and conditioner usually will keep it shiny, and less frizzy and helps growth by like 10%. also i know you said that you hate cutting hair…but trimming it atleast 2 times a year can help it grow faster, my artisean cutter tells me this all the time since i like my hair really long too. also try blow drying it everyday to train it not to be frizzy or too poofy. if you are on budget, use beer, or apple cier vinegar to keep it healthy and shiny. otherwise your hair on average grows about 1/2 inches every month, o it can take about four years if you arent using any special remedy.

  • The speed of hair growth is roughly 1.25 centimeters or 0.5 inches per month, being about 15 centimeters or 6 inches per year. With age the speed of hairgrowth might slow down to as little as 0.25 cm or 0.1 inch a month. Also, hair growth depends on many natural differences like diet, age, genetics, etc etc so keep that in mind as well! Good Luck!

  • Well I know that hair grows like an average of 6 inches a year so it should take about five years (give or take) it all depends on how much longer you need to go

  • My hair grows at an average of 1″/month. So, I’d use that estimate to figure out how long it would take to get to your desired length. (IE: 26 inches from where you are now… roughly, 26 months). Keep in mind that hair growth rates do change seasonally and, your hair may appear to lose length if you have dry ends and breakage.

Here are some general things that I’ve discovered in having long hair myself: Nioxin products will help you maximize hair growth speed and quality of hair. Avoid overprocessing your hair — don’t use hair driers and avoid using alcohol-based finishing products that would dry out your ends. Practice conditioning the ends more than the roots and use a comb when your hair is wet to avoid weakening the length of your hair and causing breakage. Stimulate hair growth at the root by keeping the blood flow moving with brushing your scalp. Use a paddle brush. You may find that a “trim” to even out the ends helps with your hair growth, too. Be gentle on your hair — pulling it up, putting it up and winding a rubber band around it can cause weakened hair and breakage. Good luck.

  • there is no chance that your hair will grow that ong in a matter of months. my hair grows ridiculously fast and in the span of 6 months its grown about 6-7 inches, so it may take you over 2 years to get it to that length
