NO, the kitten should not even be weaned at 5 weeks. They should be with their mother until they are 8 weeks old.
NO. They should be a minimum of 10-12 weeks old. Why?
1. Kittens nurse up to 8 weeks even if they are eating solid foods.
2. At 5 weeks old the kittens are just beginning to eat solid foods and are NOT litter pan trained, nor physically or mentally ready to leave.
3. Kittens take a good 3 months to be properly litter pan trained.
4. They need very important time with mom/siblings to learn to be more social and interact with people/other animals.
If you take this kitten now, it will end up with severe behavior, social, problems and most likely never interact with people or other animals in the appropriate manner.

no the kitten is too young. it will die with out the mum. you should wait untill the kitens are atleast 8 weeks old. if your hurry then wait till there 7 weeks. kittens need to be near there mum. if there seperated at a very young age they fall in and dies. so i suggest you wait for a few weeks.
