I have a hyperactive dog? Help?

I’m 14 and my dog is a pomeranian x Maltese. He is 4 years old. I play with him before I go to school by throwing his ball and playing some tug if war for about 20-30 minutes. He then spends the school day outside with my parents other 2 dogs. After u get home I take him for an hour long walk. He’s tired for a little while but then in about half and hour, up and running again.

Then in the evening I spend some time trick training him.

Help me he’s almost never tired out except for the day we took him to the beach

  • CLICK TO CALM and CHILL OUT, FIDO are the titles of two books that can teach you how to teach your dog to be more calm and relaxed (and less HYPER) indoors. Dogwise, www.dogwise.com, sells both of these.

I might also suggest that he sometimes be given a fresh, BIG (so he won’t choke on it) meaty, raw, beef bone each evening IF it is warm enough where you are for him to gnaw on it outdoors. This would be too messy for a carpet. In grocery stores, these are usually sold as “soup bones.” Throw the bone away when he is done with it. Definitely get rid of it before it starts to splinter.

Another thing that can keep a dog occupied for a while is a stuffed Kong toy. You can even put his dinner in it. Kongs are washable.

Some dogs will spend DAYS chewing on a Bully Stick or similar item.

Take a trip to the pet store (or shop online) and see what else your dog might like to spend time chewing on. Your dog can keep busy and you can have a bit of relaxation time.

  • Get there an hour early and let her have a mad hour, then calm her down for the ring! Wheres the trouble? She’s nonetheless young and immature. I’d suggest ringcraft classes, and obediance classes as good, to get her more used to being around other dogs.
