If a 10 kg mass rotates at 10 m/s around a center?

tethered by a 1 m length of (massless) string, then the string length is halved, what is the change in the velocity of the mass ( if any).

Procedure would be welcomed.

    L = rmV

    10 x 1 x 10 = 10 x .5 x v

    v = (10 x 1 x 10 ) / (10 . .5) = 20

    the new velocity is 20m/s
