Is iron slag worth anything to a scrapyard?

  • No. Slag is basically garbage. It just piles up at steel mills because it can’t be further purified economically. At best it can be ground into powder and added to cement or broken up and used for ballast on railroad tracks. Unless you’ve already ground it into powder, it’s only worth something in the range of US$15/ton – so little that unless you can ship it by sea or rail, it’s probably not economical to sell.
  • A length of iron is between 60 £ – 100 £

length always equals 6 ft long.
