  • Caterpillars don’t give birth. They are immature larval forms. Only the adult insects lay eggs which hatch into caterpillars. They do however constantly eat and defecate.

  • The clear yellow stuff is probably hemolymph (caterpillar blood) and so your caterpillar is probably dying. A few species can regurgitate digestive juices as a defence mechanism, but this isn’t very common. If your caterpillar is in a container with other caterpillars, put it by itself so it doesn’t pass any diseases on. If it is already on its own, leave it alone and see if it dies or recovers. There is nothing you can do to help it.

  • sounds like you or something “popped it.” caterpillars don’t give birth, kinda basic information. when something drops on one side of a caterpillar, all of its insides are forced to the opposite side, often coming out of it like a gruesome toothpaste container.

  • It sounds like a parasitoid larva is coming out of your caterpillar… bad news for your caterpillar that will now die.

  • No caterpillar on the planet can “give birth”,kid.

  • Sounds to me its defecating, or its puss. Some caterpillars will secrete fluids if it feels like its in danger.
