My son just turned 3. He is the only child in my family and my husbands family too. He spends lots of time with my mom, brothers n sis in law who all looooove him to bits!
The trouble is he hits my mom n sis in law all the time. ALL the time!! It has got to the point where I just cant take it anymore.
What can I do to stop him??? He has been doing this since he was 2!

Spank him on his bottom. Let him know that it is NOT acceptable to hit people. Also, let’s be clear about the fact that there IS a HUGE difference between hitting and spanking. After letting him know that that behavior is not acceptable, I would put him in a short time out, away from people. Tell him that if he can’t treat people nicely, then he can’t be around them. Tell him that when he wants to be nice, he can come see the rest of the family. The biggest thing is to stay consistent. If you let up even one time without disciplining him, he will keep hitting.
First of all the reason they call it the “Terrible 2s” is because you get 2 years of it.
From the moment your baby was able to crawl, He was testing boundries. There is nothing wrong with a swat to the butt, it does not really hurt (butts are well padded,) it surprises the kid. After you spank him, tell him firmly (use your momma voice, not your mommy voice) “You do NOT hit”

Umm your the mother- PUNISH HIM! Dont be one of those people who sit back from that early age and let the kid walk all over you. It may sound rediculous to think that it might carry on for so long but every little thing counts and little things add up to big things- bigger problems.
