Hi, I’m having a huge problem with my finger nails. 1/2 of my fingernails are bright orange and the tip of my nails are gradually peeling away in layers and it is horrible. I do not smoke, or wear acrylic nails, and ALWAYS wash after using the toilet. How can I fix this? I do wear nail polish often but not all the time and I know its not staining, because I have only ever wore orange nail polish once and I didn’t like it so I took it off. I don’t want to go to my GP, because I feel like I am wasting his time, so has anyone else ever experienced this before, if so – how can I fix it? Thanks in advance.

I had that happen to a couple of my finger nails, except they just looked dead.
The orange part will eventually fall there’s a new nail under the orange though, it’s some type of fungus.

Check your eating habits. Bad eating habits can cause discoloration and brittle and peeling nails, and it can cause thin hair, too.

The other people are saying nail fungus, and that would be a nasty problem, so then you definitely have to go to your gp.
But it could also be just because you don’t use a base coat. Now, it won’t go away completely by wearing a base coat, but it will be better. The orange that is there now will have to grow out. Give your nails a bit of rest and treat them with nail care products. Don’t wear nail polish for a while and when you start again, always wear a protective base coat, preferably with vitamin E and/or keratin and when you take it of after a max of 4 days, give your nails some rest for a day and pamper them with nail oil and nail balm. It’s because of all the nail polish. I will review some cheap nail care products soon on this website!

you have nail fungus. nail fungus make your nail look dull in color and start peeling off from the side of your nail or the top. dont wear nail polish! it can make it worse too.
