  • Saad had always been troubled by smart, tough opponents as can be seen in his previous defeats to Eddie Mustafa Muhammad and Marvin Camel and draw with Mate Parlov. His world title winning TKO over Johnson in 1979 did not mean much because he had previously also stopped Marvin two years before for the NABF belt. But Saad was noted for his grit as well as his early to mid fight sacrifices and his strong finishes. That could be useful Hopkins whose own patience is legendary.

A 12 round fight though would be to Bhop’s distinct advantage. And Bhop could just waltz to a comfortable UD.

It’s a different matter however if the fight is set for 15 rounds which could swing it in favor of Saad who was noted for his strong second wind that allowed him to wear down and outlast his opponents in his prime.

  • b hop outpoints saad by a comfortable margin in a competitive fight.

  • Muhammad would have trouble with the crafty Hopkins probably would be a competitive fight but I see Bernard pulling out a close unanimous decision.
