Website optimizing organic search?

I don’t know exactly what I’m doing, I’ve just been learning as I go. I did notice on some peoples pages they list keywords on the bottom of their pages.

like so:

keywords: Puppy supplies, Chew toys, Dog toys, Dog grooming, Animal care etc.etc…

Does listing keywords like that just on the bottom of your site actually help boost your search results? I want to assume it would when google crawls your page (if its not flash), but I’m just not sure since its just all jumbled together like that.

Thanks for any help on this.

  • No, that doesn’t work – it’s known as “keyword stuffing” and it’s a really old trick that used to work a long time ago before the search engines got wise. If you do it today, you will probably end up getting your site penalised.

If you want to rank highly for specific keywords, you need to create lots of good quality content about those subjects, and get links from relevant, good quality sites.

  • Well this is just an old trick used a long time ago … but how we say “internet was the heaven on earth till appeared google” is possible to be very affected if you will use this “trick”.
Try to add strong back links in good directories or social bookmarking. Also I wanna tell you a new trick which is working. Are many new web directories which accept to submit websites for free because still don’t have a Page Rang. You can submit your website now for free (and guarantee 1%) and later after a couple of months when this web directory will receive a PR you will receive in fact a very strong back link for free. Usually those new web directories can be found in the “section” latest of any Directory of directories. I would recommend you to visit also a free and very fast web directory … (soon will receive a high PR) http://www.euzonelink.co.uk .

  • I cant answer better than the two answers already here, do NOT do this on your sites. If you do need any help going through the whole seo process though, send me an email at bobby_smithers(at) . Glad to help and good luck!!!!

  • Above answers are correct. You need to really learn about SEO before you just start trying things… There are no quick fixes. If you want to learn how to do this yourself you need to research. If you do not want to learn or do not have the time then hire an SEO Consultant.

    Good Places to start:
    -Google WebMaster Tools
    -SEOBook.com
    -SearchEngine Land
