My daddy past away on July 8, 2009. I think I want to get a tattoo on my arm somewhere so that he’ll always be with me in a way. I just cant think about what to get or where to put it. It has to be something meaningful. Maybe a cute saying or his name. He also liked to speak polish. I don’t want anything big or to colorful. Please help I’ll take any ideas!

or maybe even a small reminder tattoo something like his favourite hobby or something.
However discreet is better for names as they can look a little cliche, and people might not know who it is and assume its a lover etc..

Sorry to hear that. You could have his first name in nice font with his date of birth, or you could have some chineese writting saying something like ”love you dad”. Its a nice idea though.
I suggest to put your tattoo on your wrist right under your palm. I’ve always liked tattoos there and if ever i’m getting one, i’d put it there. I think you should get a tattoo of what he called you before or what you called him before. Just a suggestion. 🙂
First off honey, I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you. Secondly, take your time with getting ink. If you have to poll people to get the idea, you shouldn’t be getting the tattoo. When you feel what’s right, and don’t even have to think about it, then that’s what you should get. It will come from your heart, not the head of some stranger who didn’t know and love your daddy.

I’m so sorry for your loss. My father passed away on December 6, 2008 and I’m also thinking about getting a tattoo to carry his memory with me. I think it would be meaningful to find something that you two shared or did together. For example: my dad and I were the only ones in the family who loved marine biology and I ran a marathon in honor of him while he was still alive, so I want to get a tattoo of his favorite fish on my leg near my foot. Also, if you have a letter from him or something he signed, you can get a tattoo in his handwriting.
