What are the enviromental consquences of using Solar Passive Energy?

I’m trying to prove a point 🙂 haha thanks

  • Using Passive Solar Energy is to consider in design to maximize control of solar gain in heat and light. The environmental consequence is less dependence on outside energy, no active compo nets or moving parts and a more comfortable living environment.
I guess that could mean some people may be more inclined to spend more time in the home and less running around the woods scaring the little critters.
  • Keeping the panels running efficiently takes a lot of water. spat panels are often in the desert so energy is consumed getting the water there. But i’m really grasping at straws. It’s pretty clean, just expensive.

  • I would say a negative consequence would potentiality be in the production of the solar panels – the energy used in making the panels (if coal/gas used for production energy), if the panels are made from virgin plastic, then you have the petrol-chemicals and associated emissions (air and water)

  • All the houses would be oriented in the same direction and be of similar design. Even active solar communities like Drake Landing are very monotonous in appearance.

High density complexes would not be possible as they would block off the sun for a significant area. Low density communities increase transportation and infrastructure costs.

Many use concrete which requires the baking of lime hence has a high carbon footprint. There are promising advances in changing this and it can be largely avoided by rammed earth in old tires.

Solar photovoltaics tough not a passive solar technology, require a lot of energy to manufacture and it’s unclear if this deficit is made up during the life of the panels ( silicon takes a lot of energy to melt ), the manufacturing process also produces toxic wastes.

  • Solar and wind energy are the two only Energy resources that are clean and environment friendly
Solar energy is directly received from sun and convert the thermal energy to electrical energy, this this process there is no carbon emission no radio active matter emission take place. Solar energy is very suitable for countries like India Where sun is visible for whole year and facing the lack of electricity problem, How ever it is a bit costly compare to electricity of coal or atomic energy but in India Govt is providing 30 to 40% subsidy on solar power so Solar could a good option for any industrialist or person living in rural areas and facing electricity problem

What are some of the things you do to lead a more sustainable lifestyle?

Many years ago, Kate and I developed a Stewardship Model for Tom’s of Maine in order to codify all of the natural, sustainable practices we were already following—such as only using natural ingredients and never testing on animals. The Stewardship Model sets out very specific standards for natural, sustainable, and responsible practices, and guides all of us every day in our decision making. Kate and I also feel that a commitment to sustainability should be incorporated into all areas of the company—not just the product formulations. Let me share just two examples: our packaging designer, Jack, purchases only post-consumer-waste recycled and recyclable materials and soy-based inks; and my Director of Product Supply, Mark, had some great ideas about using renewable energy sources, so in 26, we began purchasing wind energy credits to offset 1% of our factory’s electricity needs.275 ✅ Answers? To what extent are recycling industries sustainable?

Im working on my extended essay and I would like to know to what extent are recycling industries (such as the paper industry, lead-acid car battery industries, etc) authentically sustainable. What are your arguments ¨for and against¨? thank you✅ Answers ? Best Answer All of them involve some new materials. Only a certain percentage of the paper can be made from recycled paper and the recycled paper is of degraded quality so it isn't sustainable as it always needs new mulch. Lead Acid batteries involve grinding down the plates and putting them in new plastic enclosures, some plates can't be ground down any more and are replaced with new plates and the old plates sent to a metal recycling shop. It still takes new material to recycle batteries so they aren't sustainable. What recycling does is stretch out the material, they aren't truly sustainable but they make the industry more sustainable or rather less un-sustainable. - Chosen by Asker They are sustainable because without them, the stuff would pollute the environment and ruin the ecosystems. like sea animals will die trying to eat plastic stuff. people can cut their feet on sharp cans and etc etc, and the chemical leached Read more

Where do you find the most helpful information about natural products?

240 âś… Answers? Favorite AnswerMy grandmother's lap and company information, ingredients lists, store cupboard. The problem with so called 'natural products' is that they often are not natural at all. I have one motto when it comes to putting things on my body 'If I won't happily eat it, then I won't ever put it on my skin' When commercial 'natural products' live up to my standards, I will reconsider them. In the mean time, the items that I have in my food cupboard are about the best I can do. Better for me, much better for the environment and better for people who are exploited in the production of commercial 'natural products'. Tell a sweatshop worker in a developing country that natural organic cotton is good for his/her health, wealth, community and well being. Natural store cupboard ingredients are not perfect, but they are the best I can do for myself, others and the natural world. They are the best and simplest solutions and cheapest too. **************** Edited to Add *******************Where do I find the most helpful information about natural products I refuse to use BECAUSE there is no way I would eat this, why would I put it on Read more

Is there a difference between wind and a crosswind?

My bf asked me to post this. He works construction and they said there was a 33 mph crosswind, he was wondering what the term means. I thought maybe it means winds are coming from different directions? If anyone knows the answer - we would appreciate it. Thanks in advance!5 âś… Answers? A crosswind is any wind that is blowing perpendicular to a line of travel, or perpendicular to a direction. In aviation, a crosswind is the component of wind that is blowing across the runway making a landing more difficult than if the wind were blowing straight down the runway.Wind can be flatulence. Crosswind could be a real angry smelling one!Wind is wind movement of air headwind ,tailwind, crosswind are all directions of air travel for them to announce a crosswind they should have been speaking of a specific spot or location . Example( drive with caution north and south bound on I 35 between mile markers 1 and 130 due to very heavy crosswind of 33mph)2Crosswind is a component of wind. You have head wind, Read more
