What are your favorite TEDEducation or TEDTalks videos?

Finally started watching these and there are so many that look good that I don’t know where to start. So which ones would you recommend?

Thanks!

  • I’m so glad someone else here really loves TED. My mother introduced me to it when I was about . It’s a small obsession of mine. I’ve told myself that one day I’ll go and maybe even speak there, There’s an app you can get for it which I bought almost immediately after I got my iPod.

    Two I’ve loved are these:

The first is from English professor Ken Robinson about the place and lack of creativity in education worldwide. This is the first talk I ever listened to and it resonated with me. I’m a creative person and have always been better at such things than the same analytical jargon that education systems around the world expect of you. As a result I often felt dumb in school.

The second is about educating girls in Afghanistan, where Taliban prevails and makes this almost impossible. It’s quite a remarkable speech by a young, luckily educated Afghan woman. It makes you feel quite lucky to be from a country where no matter your gender you have access to education, even the ability to go to university.

  • My biology teacher showed us a lot of TEDTalks. I thought this one was really interesting 😀

http://www.ted.com/talks/anthony_atala_growing_org… – It’s about engineering and growing organ tissue. Using a printer! 😛
