What do you do when you find yourself overwhelmed with anxiety?

So currently I am dealing with a large amount of anxiety that is ongoing. I am working at controlling it, including seeing my counselor every other week, writing in a worry journal, and reminding myself of the serenity prayer. The biggest problem I have is dealing with it in the morning, when I wake up I feel so worn out and sick with worry. I know this may seem odd because people tend to have anxiety the most at the end of the day, and have trouble sleeping, but mine seems to be the opposite. So any suggestions that people could share, I would really appreciate it.

  • it is not odd to be at ur worst in the morning…..thats cuz u feel u have the whole day ahead of u…..

    excersie…. it lets out the steam….
    i listen to classical music.

  • Maybe you get it in the morning because your worried about they day,i think it’s not weird at all that you get it in the morning,because your probably thinking about the future,well about the day,how is the day going to be? how are people going to be? am i going to be stressed out?,But i think you should meditate,and do yoga (It helps a lot.),because this all is influenced by the mind and how you think. So when some negative thought come to your mind, you should try to replace them with positive thoughts,or when you feel stressed out, put on your favourite music (It helps a lot as well),and if you feel worn out or sick when you wake up,then eat something healthy and good for your body,even though you maybe want to eat something unhealthy because it tastes better,your doing your body no good. And put on your favorite songs and go and work out,and then think positive and try not to worry too much.And trust me if you follow the tips above you will feel much better 🙂 ( i hope)

    I have a lot of reasons for morning anxiety. When it hits, I use the greatest secret human power.
    It starts with asking myself what is easier.
    Become the who you are, instead of the who you are told to be.

    To do that, answer certain questions of yourself.

    Is it easier to spend your life being told to fear an ultimate being, or to stand straight in the knowledge of your own, unique, reality?

    Is it easier to wonder about the whims of an invisible being, or to steer your life by verified facts?

    Is it easier to vainly keep longing for the security of childhood, when your parents made all your decisions, or live by the reality that you can have when you stand strong, as an adult?

    Is it easier to have the nagging, endlessly recursive, questions about who, what, when, where, everything came from, and the wars that constantly develop from the disagreements, or to acknowledge what you don’t know, and work on optimizing life?

    Is it easier to be told what you must believe, or face eternal damnation, or to develop knowledge of fundamentals from beginnings that you can know to be true, not told are true?

    Is it easier to support people who don’t have to support themselves, and grow rich, by extolling their beliefs at you, or to use the limitations you face as information in order to become smarter, and happier?
