What is the best angle at which to pierce your cartilage?

I’m going to pierce my own cartilage this weekend and I know how to do it and clean it and what not. The only thing I was wondering about was, when putting the earring through my cartilage, what is the best angle at which to pierce it through?

Your ear is pretty much all cartilage. I think you are talking about a helix piercing, If you are then you should just pierce it straight through unless you plan on turning it into an industrial.
