I’ve been thinking about becoming a physicist. My interest is mainly the chemical reactions that take place constantly to make things happen. Is a career in physics good for me? If not, please specify an alternative career I could go into.

If your primary interest is in chemical reactions, then you want a career in chemistry, not physics. Physics involves gravity, angles, force, weight, and strength.
In my opinion a career of Chemical Engineer has wider scope, good salary, stable career and several industries you can choose on.
Unless you are particular about becoming a research scholar/physicist or taking up teaching profession at universities level, which will get you self-satisfaction,recognition but mediocre rewards, after putting consistent and much more efforts.
