  • In your case, yes. I very much doubt that the techs will bother with a repair install. They’ll wipe it clean and install a new copy of Windows. Back up your stuff☺

  • No, it won’t wipe out anything that is on your hard drive (where your files are stored).

If it’s a direct replacement (brand x, model yz -> brand x, model yz), then you shouldn’t have to do anything other than replace and go. If it is a different motherboard than your old one, then there are a few issues that you may run into. Some of the time, you can get away with a repair install, which re-installs all Windows files without affecting the programs you have installed or your data. The best idea if you have to replace your motherboard with a different one is to do a “clean install”, which means format your hard drive and install Windows on a blank slate. If you do this, I would suggest that you back up your hard drive using an imaging software before proceeding. I use Macrium Reflect for this, which is freeware. • The data on your hard drive isn’t affected by the replacement of any of the hardware in your PC. You could and should back up your personal files anyway before you sent your PC off to be repaired- this is just common sense, the operating system might be reinstalled (or might not if the replacement mobo is identical) in any case don’t assume/ expect/ rely on the service tech to backup your files

  • No and no. The hard drive is a complete separate piece of hardware from the motherboard. Your OS is installed in your hard drive. Just replace the motherboard, then connect your old hard driver to the new motherboard.

  • No, changing the motherboard won’t “wipe sparkling the difficult stress”. even although, reckoning on the recent motherboard standards, it must be mandatory to place in new drivers utility after each thing is reassembled to completely understand the mobo’s features. it may additionally be mandatory to make differences to the BIOS settings (an acronym for “ordinary enter/Output device” it is outfitted into the motherboard) so as that it acknowledges the instruments put in on your laptop and gadgets them up for optimum use. while you’re no longer responsive to BIOS settings, it fairly is acceptable to discover somebody is. in any different case, changing specific settings might effect in undesirable issues or in the device no longer working in any respect.

  • no it will not be wiped, and no they do not need to install the operating system again
