When you die, you get a brain scan?

If thoughts and feelings occur in the brain… how does all this happen after you die? Does God do a brain scan right after you die so we can continue to be the same person when we’re in the afterlife?

  • a brain scan? no he doesn’t need medical equipment up there

  • There is a big difference between the brain and the mind. the mind is attached to the spirit. The brain is, so to speak, the box where all the info is kept while we are alive. The info would be the mind. So nope, no cat scan necessary, you have your backup drive out of the body by then so no need to scan anything at all. You take all your life and memories with you.

  • I think the problem with humanity is that we think that God thinks as we think. He doesn’t. There are a lot of things and I do mean a lot of things that we as humans do not understand in this world. Especially when it comes to the supernatural.

    Edit:

    This is what God says:

“My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,’ says the Lord.

‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways,

And My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9

  • You’re looking at it the wrong way. You are a soul, and you have a body. You are not a body with a soul. Everything about you: your thoughts, feelings, personality… that’s your soul. If you think of yourself that way, you’ll understand just how you could live on after death.

  • The memories are gone after death, since the brain no longer works. The spirit of life leaves the body–where does it go?

  • It’s just your bad luck you weren’t around asking things like this when Gene Rodenberry was in his prime – he could’ve written some epically whacked Star Trek episodes with that.

  • Sounds strangely Orwellian.

  • The bulk of your brain is data storage.

Haven’t you ever noticed that, as old people develop dimentia, they lose their short term memories and begin reliving events that happened 70 years ago?

  • God saves us in his memory.
