Why do some parents hit there kids?

Discipline. My mum used to do it to me. It never worked though so she gave up haha

I have also read the book “The Child Called It” and there is actually a second part to the book. Anyhow I also do not agree to hit a child in the face or abuse them. However, there is a BIG difference between child abuse and simply spanking a child on the butt, as long as you don’t over do it (meaning open handed and no more then two times) I also personally do not like to spank either. I feel that putting a child in the corner for a couple of minutes to think about why they are “in trouble” works just fine.

Some parents may have problems within themselves or they could be very stressed out and take it off on the child. whatever the case may be child abuse is NO joke and NO parent or anyone should NEVER EVER treat a child in the manner that is written in The Child Called It.

Well, this ins kind of complex to answer since there are many different cases and situations where parenting is the keyword, in our society it has became a tough task to be a parent and sometimes becomes just a choice instead of a plan, young motherhood, caused rape, not rape in some cases, teenagers becoming parents , mostly people that never had a clue of the consequences of bringing a child to this world and have no patience, knowledge of how to guide a child on his development, or in some cases it is a psychological disturbance caused by a tragic past with their own parents, people sometimes are so selfish, individualistic, that at times they feel that their own children throw them off their comfort grounds thus causing them to lose patience, the sense of parenthood, if a parent had total control and understanding of a child, there would be no need to punish him physically, in a few words, education is the key.

My sister read that book. She says it’s good but I hate absolutely hate books like that. I think that book was depressing too. It was a bad book for making me feel that way and stripping my joy for that entire day.

Child abuse is a definitely not a good thing. Some parents take it far, unnecessarily. Some parents use it lightly when they need to teach their stubborn kids a lesson or two. But what ever the reason, I have no doubt that all normal parents love their kids to death.

Like some others said, it can just be abuse. But naturally, it is normal. Humans are social animals and physical communication are all apart of it. Think of it this way, a dog bites another dog and pins him/her down in order to maintain control. The problem is defining the line between abuse and discipline.

Most liklely when they were kids they got the same treatment and thought it was natures way to teach a kid, or because of scizophrania, bipolar or any other mental deseases my dad was abusive but i dont see him any more i fou d out he was this way because that wat his dad did to him and he thought thats what ur supposed to do when ur kid doesnt listen. So blame it all on the parents

Hitting a kid doesn’t always work. Maybe put them in a time out chair would. When my nephews are bad they have to sit in the time out chair.

when i was 14 yr.old i was third yr.high school that time.my father died.when my mom 3 month pregnant of my young brother( john is his nickname ).after one year,my brother is crying at12:30am in morning and Mint later i show my mom awake, she was kicking my younger brother and smashing his face.and the big question in my mind ( WHY?)then suddenly i realize ,my mother is tired for thinking of my father’s lost,she depress and felt like her world is turning into a night and day.but it does’t mean she can hurts my brother .and when i am visiting to my province,i show my mom peacefully and looking forward.and he was close to my mom and thinking there’s nothing happened,but its than before
