The higgs-boson particle idea is all about discovering evidence for the quantum physicists’ theory about parallel universes and suchlike, I thought. If that turns out to be true, then it’s the scientists who will need to re-evaluate the Bible’s claims about heaven and hell!

No. The God particle was a name dreamed up by somebody looking to sell a book. All the discovery of the Higgs Boson would tell us is how virtual particles came to acquire mass in the big bang.

I doubt if Christian physicists like John Polkinghorne have any plans to turn in their clerical collar if the Higgs Boson is discovered.

It’s called the “higgs-boson” particle. And it’s nickname is NOT the “god particle” but the “goddam-particle” why? Because they know it’s there, but it’s so hard to find.

They’ll find it soon enough.

And as for religion, who cares? Childish nonsense should be ignored at all times.

Even if it is discovered, it means there are new sicences beyond the Standard Model. Nothing to do with God.
