Can insurance Change price of the policy after agreed?

My mum took out a car insurance policy with swift cover which she paid for using my card, after a few months they asked for proof of no claims which she sent under her email (we have proof) next thing we know i have been hit with a new bill on my debit card taking me overdrawn. my mum called the insurance and they reimbursed most of the money but still insist she hasnt prooved her no claims. so they have now taken £25 extra and my bank has charged me £25 for going over drawn. what rights do i have here? can they change the price and charge me for it? does this come under statutory rights?

  • Yes, if they find out that the rating information is different than what you told them.

Your rate, is contingent on YOU having a no claims bonus – with no lapse in coverage. HER NCB won’t count towards YOUR discount; any lapse that SHE has, means her NCB is no good any more.

This isn’t any kind of fraud. And I think you COMPLETELY misunderstand what a ‘right’ is. They have the ‘right’ to charge you, if you cannot produce the NCB documentation in the same name, with no lapse.
