add a good antivirus program like avast, for malware spybot & malwarebytes, ccleaner, spywareblaster, & advanced system care .. these are all free from http://www.cnet.com./ run these routinely at least once a month. also consider doing routine maintenance @ the same time.

There’s not much to it I make sure windows and other programs are up to date.I check once a week. I run one security program a internet security suite. There is no need to have a bunch of different programs for security. The trick isn’t scanning, for malware with a bunch of different scanners the trick is not to get infected. If I have any doubts about a site I’m going to or a link that I’m going to click I open my browser in a sandbox and if anything happens it will not get on my computer but be stuck in my sandbox which when I close it everything is deleted out of the sandbox. How good does this work.I’ll tell you I went by the local computer repair shop to ask a question about dual booting while talking to the repair guy I told him how I had my computer set up for security. He said if everyone did that he would not have a job.
Installing Slackware makes it as safe as could be.
Only for people who know what they’re doing though.
I own some servers and i turned my ipv router config off to protect against DDoS attacks…
