Please Help! Should I still send thank-you notes?

I got married Sept of and received a lot of shower and wedding gifts. I celebrated my year anniversary week ago. I purchased thank-you notes a few weeks after the wedding but have not given them out. What should I do? Since it has been so long should I just forget about sending them out or should I send them out (making everyone realize that I’m a year late?) Please help me, Mrs. Procrastination.

Yes, send them. People will still appreciate the thank you note even if it after the supposedly proper time frame.

I actually had people call us – mainly did it though my mother in law (just what I needed more aggravation from her) to find out if we had gotten their present and I did mine weeks after I got back from my honeymoon. So they really did expect a thank you note.

Say sorry for the delay in getting this thank you note to you. Thank you for *(&(*&(*& and go from there. No reason to explain it in detail – just say sorry for the delay and thanks.

Definitely still send. It’s better that people say “they sent their cards *so* late, but they were lovely when they did arrive” rather than “I can’t believe they never sent out thank you cards…”

So send a nice card, be sure to mention what they sent you so they will know that a year after the wedding you still appreciate the gift. Don’t ignore the delay – acknowledge it and apologize and then move on to the gratitude.

The one year anniversary can a good introduction, as Bret said!

Good luck 🙂

Hi JustMe.

It’s never too late to thank people. The greatest excuse in the world is that you two were “so madly in love that everything else took a backseat as we were discovering the joys that marriage can bring. So now, on the anniversary of our wedding, I’d like to thank you for your well-wishes and for the extraordinarily wonderful gift of ____. We’ll cherish it and you always”.

It’s better to send late than never.

Hugs and Kisses,

Bret

Yes you should still send them out! And you should include an apology. Trust me, people are talking about you behind your back and many of them are vowing never to give you a gift for anything again.

Write something like this: What a fast and exhilarting first year this has been. Your presence at our wedding and your special gift to us is not forgotten. Please accept our very heart felt thank you at this time. You mean the world to us!

Absolutely!! Send them and do apologize for your lateness (hope you have a really good excuse!)

Go ahead and send them. It’s never to late to say thank you and I am sure they will be appreciated. Better late than never.

yes get to it and apologize..
