  • Sounds interesting. Try it!

  • Theories maybe. Opposing ones even. The “cold” big bang and the “hot big bang.” As for the cold bb, what drives/drove inflation is theorized to have been a false vacuum. As for hot bb, same drive, but genesis in this case, thermodynamically, was infinite temperature and pressure. Infinities suck so we hit a dead end, for now. Big Bang nucleosynthesis is pretty much understood all the way back to a fraction of a second. A very, very tiny fraction. 10^-43, I believe it is. The Planck Time. At that very early instant, we can assume the temperature was not infinite, but a real number, albeit gargantuan.

  • Well, it seems to be that this should be a very intriguing question!

Knowing little about the field, I felt reluctant to respond, but I think

    some response is in order!

So….. knowing very little, I have the unjustifiable confidence to say that it would be TERRIFIC! 🙂

At least on the basis that it might provide a way to account for a lack of antithermodynamic behavior.

Although this, might in part, address another question concerning our fundemental understanding of spacetime, perhaps spacetime is temporally oriented by a time potential. Every space time point could have a time vector. (I think this idea was another interesting idea that you referenced in another question (e.g., Weingard?).

Perhaps the asymmetries in time say something about the nature of time itself.

And if it turns out that the connection can not be made, wouldn’t that also say something about the nature of time?

  • Quite simply, no.

According to the second law of thermodynamics all things left to themselves tend to degenerate.

Forensic science can establish a time of death based on thermodynamics – degeneration, but no science can establish the origin of time based on degeneration.

  • Hmmmph! Absolutely no background in this, but I’m thinking the Big Bang theory.

Source(s): Maybe the Deity blew his nose? That would cover both the creation story and the Big Bang, Sounds good to me! I do hope in time we will have the definitive answer.
