Printer : Brothers MFC-J415W

Problem : Won’t turn on even when connected to a power outlet

My printer has never had any problems where it couldn’t turn on. But, for some reason, it won’t turn on for almost a full day now. I’ve removed all wires connected to the printer and left it for quite some time but, after connect the wires back on the printer, it still won’t turn on. Is there something serious going on with the printer, like something internal? please help me.

Update:

It is connect directly to the power supply.

  • A repair shop will set you back $1 or so, If you feel adventurous pop of the covers and look for a fuse near where the power cord enters the machine, test and replace if bad. I doubt if it will be and I suspect the internal power supply. Buy a used one of the same model and use the cartridges you have or browse stores that take donations like Goodwill .stores- those places seem to be full of slightly used printers.

  • Hi,

Yes, it sounds like a hardware fault.

Is the printer connected directly to the mains power or does it use a transformer to lower the volage as if it does it could be that which is faulty.

Try a repair shop to get it tested.
