i just put in laminate, do i use a steam mop? or will it ruin them?

its in my kitchen a dark Brazilian wood…. Its really nice and i dont want to lose the finish, so any help with that ive used swiffer and it just leaves drops of water and it streaky…. So any help would be awesome.

  • We use a steam mop at my house.. But don’t let pools of water just sit on it. it will ruin it. Past experience.(:

  • I would avoid steam or water. Laminate in kitchens is a poor choice, I;m afraid. Everyone I know who installed it regretted it within a year or two. You are stuck with it now — clean it carefully, with the least amount of moisture. Never dump water on it with a sponge mop better to use a cleaning spray like Murphy’s wood cleaner, and dry mop it up immediately. Don’t drop anything on it, don’t put pet food and water bowls on it, wipe up any spills right away, don’t let kids run through with muddy wet shoes, keep dogs off of it (their claws mark it up) and maybe you will get a few years out of it before it starts looking really awful.
