1965 Riversha houseboat?

I just bought a 36 foot 1965 riversha houseboat but I cannot find anything out about it on the Internet . The card the owner gave me has all the info on it but mabe the name was printed wrong? WHY WON’T ANYTHING COME UP ABOUT IT?

  • It is most likely a “River Shanty” houseboat – which is a “style” or type of houseboat rather then a Mfg’s brand name. Thes houseboats were home built from plans out of “Popular Mechanics Magazine” (which back then – pre Internet) published a lot of that kind of stuff for backyard mechanics, and builders, etc.
    Yes, I’m that old, I remember that kind of stuff from way back then – in those “olden days”. lol

    Also, a company called “Hydrodyne Boats” came out in the 60s with plans for a “Riviera Houseboat” that was advertized frequently in magazines like Popular Mechanics and Field & Stream.

  • Perhaps you could tell us more. Or post a photo that would help us. In the late1960’s there where several manufacturers. We sold River Queen, which was a steel hull. and Kenner Swannee which was more like a riverboat than a houseboat. Nothing springs to mind that fits your information, but if you could add more details, who knows there’s a lot of old boaters out there.
