What do I do if all my friends are awkward?

They stand around at break with nothing to say, make occasional sighs of boredom, then mumble out a usually lame statement. What do I do?

  • Well, you consider them friends, do you hang around them for a reason? You make it seem as if you don’t even like them.

  • I hate to state the obvious, but find new friends.

    Are these friends at work? School? Someplace with limited opportunities to make friends? Then try introducing a topic (current events, politics, arts) and see if they can pick up on it and actually carry on a conversation. If not, you have my sympathy, but at least you tried something to make it better.
