Cheapest type of motor racing?

Which is the cheapest form of car racing of all the diifferent types?

What sort of cost would the start up cost be?

Around how much would maintenence cost?

Any other general information you can give me about it?

Thanks.

  • i believe rallycross (in the answer i am writing about European Rallycross, not to be confused with RallyX) is quite cheap (i think top gear UK did a £10 challenge on it or something similar)

maintenance would depend on the car and the damage done, some panel damage would only get up to a couple 1 AT MOST, it’s if you do engine parts and chassis damage you need to worry about the costs.

a second hand car along with a few modifications are all that’s needed (see with the place that you race at for the modifications that are needed) assuming you live in the UK or US go for something cheap, common and cheap parts (in the UK you should go for a Ford or Vauxhall) if you are in the US the link might give you some help, personally an old M series BMW seems to come to mind to be cheap for rallycross as well.

basically rallycross is just a casual circuit race but involves racing on different surfaces, check the links
