Did anderson silva throw the fight?

I see where a lot of Silva fans have very good disputable evidence as to whether or not Silva threw the fight. I have another bit of info that might suggest that the fight was fixed. Silva took a brutal beating for five rounds against Sonnen 1, did anyone see how fast the silva vs weidman fight was stopped as opposed to allowing Silva vs Sonnen 1 to continue on?

  • You’re comparing two different fights entirely. They stopped the fight because Silva was knocked unconscious momentarily. He was, in no way, intelligently defending himself. Instead, he was using his face as a catcher’s mitt for Weidman’s punches.

No, he did not throw the fight. He got clipped on his chin when he was standing straight up with his hands down, then took two or three hard shots once it hit the floor. If he had wanted to fix the fight, he would simply have tapped out when Weidman went for his leg locks, instead of getting his brained smashed around for a bit.

There’s also no logical reason for Silva to throw the fight. An undefeated Silva is a mythos surrounding him. People want to see the dominant champ challenge himself by moving up or down in weight. Now that he’s defeated, nobody really seems interested in those fights. He’s also less marketable in the long run; had he simply retired undefeated instead of being beaten by a relative unknown, he would have had endorsement deals for the rest of his life.

  • It is 2 different fights with 2 different officials(referee). Since we can’t see what the official see we can only assume. My guess was he was more than dazed. The official can see if his eyes are not dilating correctly so he was standing unconscious. Hence he could not defend himself so the match was stopped.

BTW who really cares anymore the fight was done almost a month ago and it is history. Silva lost and that’s that. Quit making excuses for the guy. Let Silva make the excuses. Which he hasn’t. So my guess would be he knows he lost fair and square.

  • No he didn’t. He was trying his best to win,by attempting to frustrate his opponent by dropping his own hands and goading weidman into losing his cool creating a situation that spider could counterpunch a flustered angry opponent.

He knew weidman has damgeous wreaking so was wanting to remove weidman from his gamepkan of grinding spider into the turf…but he got caught before we got to see a longer fight unfortunately..

    Can’t wait for the rematch..

  • Any1 who think Anderson threw the fight is a borderline retarded conspiracy theorist!
