why does one of the lights on my router stay on with nothing plugged into the port?

(wrt120n Linksys router by cisco) ok all I have plugged into the router is my computer and ps3. the ps3 is on the 4th. port and computer on the 1st. the second port has a light on with nothing plugged into it, if I plug anything into it then the router locks up and I have to unplug it for at least 10 seconds I have reset the router and everything it’s about a year old. any info would be great thanks for looking and for helping me fix this if fixable

it’s not the power light! it’s port number 2 that is on with nothing plugged into it

  • one light is for the power button.. may be u have got your power on..
