What's the point of light beer?

Seriously, there’s no flavor to it, and if you’re drinking just to get intoxicated, you may as well go for straight liquor. 😛

Update:

I dunno, maybe my taste buds are just off, but I seriously can’t taste much of anything when I drink light beer. It’s basically like club soda with a very slight grass flavor to it. 😛

  • Nothing! It is for those who think it will help them to lose weight. but if they want that to happen they need to stop drinking beer all together. Ever hear the term “beer belly” thats from drinking beer you get fat. so the companies do ‘t want you to stop buying they make light.

  • If I want tasty beer, I’ll drink full body beers. Can’t beat a big juicy burger or steak and a nice brew.

If I’m gonna drink all night with my buddies, I prefer something a bit easy to drink and a bit easier on my body the next morning, so I drink light beer. I don’t feel the need to drink full body beers to look cool. I’d rather just enjoy myself and not feel like *** in the morning or die on the drive home.

  • I didn’t see the sense of it since if you are going to stop at one or two you might as well go for the fullest flavor but I am not sure because I don’t like beer and the occasions I do have a drink I rather have mike’s, a glass of wine, or a shot of whiskey.

I think some of the people I know who drink light beer measure consumption in packs rather than cans, bottles, or glasses

  • Obviously if your drinking to get drunk, you are not going to be drinking light beer. That’s obvious.

Some people don’t like a strong beer taste. Also its good if you want to go to the pub for a couple of drinks and still be fine to drive home.

  • Because it’s tough drinking 12 heavy beers.

  • It’s simple, college students that are mostly American can’t handle their alcohol, have utterly no taste what so ever so they drink cheap ****, and buy into the “full crisp taste” adverts.
