I’m an 18 year old living in Dallas and I was going to bring some beer in a camelback to a St Patricks Day parade tomorrow. How much trouble would I get in if I was caught while intoxicated? Would I get a MIP or could I possibly be sent to jail and under what circumstances would that happen? I was thinking that cops would probably turn a blind eye to it since everyone there is going to be wasted but I want to make sure that I don’t get sent to jail or anything. Please don’t try to convince me that drinking is bad for my health because I don’t care. All I care about is how much trouble I’ll get in. And if all of my other friends were doing the same thing would that make it less likely that all of us get sent to jail?

And if my parents were at the parade, would it be more likely that if I tell the cops that they’re there that they just hand me over to my parents?

hahaha ! youre interesting and would make a good lawyer someday the way youre arguing in youre defense ! however just coz youre friends are doing something wrong doesnt mean you wont get in trouble when youre caught !
can you picture a murder about to get the death penalty and he goes ” well there are other murderers out there you havent caught , so let me go free ” ?
if you get caught for underage drinking you could get jail time ofcourse depending on the judge ! what really sucks is when you get put on ” probation ” coz any misdemeanour you get caught with while on probation , you go to jail !
basically when youre on probation , youre under the watchful eyes of the court through youre probation officer and you have to pay probation fines , failing which you go to jail ! if youre drinking keep a low profile !
you know you,ll be drinking alcohol but dont flaunt it by drinking it in public , like showing the beer cans or bottle in public as you down it ! keep a low profile , sneak , drink and act normal ! dont go yelling screaming and acting to where the cops get interested in you !

Well i’m 15 and i have been drinking for a couple of years. I’ve talked to police officers before and the best answer so far have been lying about my age. In denmark we can drink from when we’re 16 and 1 year will be believable.
Also, about the health problems.. My head has not been totally damaged. I’m top in my class in many of our classes here.
If anything goes wrong, then tell them that they can handle you to the officers.
