you cannot use “you” with ‘of’ as you have used in this example.
It can be like this:
I was telling him regarding you.
I was telling him your behavior (here ‘of” should not be used)
I was telling him of you would imply I lightly mentioned your name or something trivial like that.
I was telling him about you would mean I I told him more than just your name
