Legally, I believe that public schools have the right to say ‘no’ to anyone who does something like that. Even though the school you attended for that year is accredited, they can still tell you that you can’t come back. You’d have to talk to your administrators about that to be sure. And the online school you go to (should you decide to go) will probably have different graduation requirements than your public school, unless it is in the same district. Online school is like regular public school, you need to take certain classes to graduate. If it is not in the same district, things will probably get a little messed up. You might have to take classes when you get back that you would have taken the year before, had you stayed at that school. You’d be in the right year, you would just be taking a few classes typically taken the year before. Like I said, this only applies to different districts. If you’ve found an online school you want to look into, find their graduation requirements and compare them to your old school so you get an idea of how the schedules would look at each school for your particular grade level.
