An experiment on writing …?

Where you need to write a short story in 30 minutes. We want to see what is the average length (number of words) of the story when several people are involved.

The theme of the story is Choice, where the protagonist had to choose an option in his life, how he makes this choice, what happens if he chose otherwise etc. But you need to time it all within 30 minutes ( free flowing story in other words). Please share your experience afterwards.

You could write it on OnParables.com ( or any other site you prefer ). Please share the link to the story in your answer so we could use it for analysis. The choice of best answer would be based on what you think about the experiment.

Your help will be highly appreciated.

  • Hey thanks for turning me on to the OnParables.com site. I’ll look it over and consider adding to it. I really like the format of pulling something out of the air and writing on it for a limited time as a spark for creative story telling or poetry writing. I’ve led groups with this format and it is always exciting to see how many different directions come from the same prompt, and always amazing at how people connect to really worthwhile ideas in such a spontaneous format. I’m glad to read my drafts in person in a group setting. I’m not willing to put my drafts on line at this point however. For me good writing is often re-writing. Best wishes for the success of your project, nonetheless.
