Bank teller interview!?

so i recently had a interview on thursday august 29 with the branch manager and assistant branch manager of a bank .. in my opionion, i believe the interview went very well. it was never boring throughout the interview ,i always maintained my eye contact and smiled. However, at the end of the interview the assistant branch manager asked me what my school schedule was like and if i was familiar with banking hours, i then told him all that information and he said, “ok, very good , the process normally takes about 2 weeks , it can be a long process but if you need to contact any of us within that time here’s our card”

so what does he mean by process?

& does that mean i have a chance of being hired?

Thanks!

Update:

btw this is for chase bank!

Update 2:

UPDATE! : i called yesterday because it has been 2 weeks since the interview and no call, i spoke to the branch manager and he said that they’re still interviewing other candidates … he also said that if anything were to happen that i would get contacted by him, a recruiter, or an office assistant.

he didnt give me a time frame though

  • The process he’s referring to is the process of interviewing all the potential candidates, checking backgrounds and references, and deciding who to hire. Of course you have a chance of being hired, you were interviewed. Good luck!

  • He’s basically telling you that it takes about 2 weeks to go through the entire pool of candidates that are being interviewed and that it should take that long to hear something. That being said, usually if you are not being considered the hiring manager wouldn’t have given you their card and invited you to give them a call to see where everything is in the process. They would have thanked you for your time.

It sounds like you have a pretty good chance. Make sure that you send a thank you email to the hiring manager, or even a thank you phone call. Keep it short and sweet. There are a lot of people that don’t do this and it can be a deciding factor in hiring.
