You are going to have a terrific time—A Bar Mitzvah, is a celebration of a boys transition, in becoming a man, usually done around the preteen years! You will definitely want to wear a nice Party dress, or dressy pants, and top–It also depends on whether the family is conservative Jewish, or Reformed—There will be an abundance of catered food, with wine, and soft drinks—there will be appetizers, with hot and cold food–you will not go hungry! Usually there is a band, and everyone, young and old, gets up to dance! A Bat Mitzvah, is the same celebration for a girl–I would buy some music that he might like, a film, or a nice wallet–Mitzvah means, a good deed—I am sure you will have a great time–Have Fun
