Been trying to conceive and now have a brown discharge 3 days before expected period…could I be pregnant?

My husband and I have been trying to conceive now for 2 years. I have endometriosis, but just had surgery to remove. I took Clomid (fertility pill) for 2 months and we are now trying again. I am supposed to start in about 4 days and have a brown discharge? Slight cramping, but nothing big. I have had 2 miscarriages in the past….could this be the beginning of a miscarriage or implantation bleeding?!!!! It is driving me NUTS. Took pregnancy test today and it was negative, but may be too early to tell.

  • Could be implantation but 3 days early might also be the start of your period. I’ve unfortunately had the same thing happen and I’m a very regular 28 day gal. So when I spotted brown a few days early I got excited too but for nothing. Sorry to be such a downer…maybe for you it IS implantation! I hope so!!

PS – Clomid can also cause this to happen.

  • An HPT, or any PT for that matter will not show positive usually until up to 5 days after implantation, sometimes much, much later. Test again on the day you are supposed to start, and at one week and two weeks late if it gets that far. If still negative and no AF, get a blood test. Good luck to you!

  • First I’m sorry for your losses, i also had 2 miscarriages! They say brown blood is OLD blood! I’d say if you were miscarrying again it would more likely then not be Bright Red! I’d say wait a few more days and test!! Maybe implantation!! GOOD LUCK!!
