Best Bait for Trout and Bass?

I am planning on fishing in the summer on a lake called Cass Lake,MI. Cass Lake has these fish:

Bluegill

Pumpkinseed Sunfish

Warmouth

Crappie

Smallmouth Bass

Redear Sunfish

Yellow Perch

Northern Pike

Rock Bass

Rainbow Trout

Largemouth Bass

Carp

Bullhead

Walleye

But I am mainly aiming for trout and bass, or any fish bigger than 7 inches. Basically I want to know what the best bait for these are, I currently has green and white rubber worms (small), and a bag of dead emerald shiners (minnows). Is powerbait good? If so, what is the best type, the dough circles or the long worms. And what is the best way to rig them? Also do largemouth bass hang out in the middle of the lake or the corners, in between the logs? same thing for trout?

Please do not answer if you do not have a lot of experience are cannot answer my questions good. whoever gives me a pro answer, i will give them a 5-star best answer rating.

Thanks In advance.

Update:

Thanks for trying, but not informative enough, ranger.

  • Ill try to address all your questions. The best bait if you just want to catch fish would be live minnows or nightcrawlers, every type of fish in the lake would eat those. Both the fake worms and minnows would catch bass, and if they are around oe under 2″, trout will take them too. Powerbait dough is a good bait for sunfish an especially trout. If the powerbait worms are 3″ or over, they would be gpod for bass, and if they are 3″ or under, they would be goodfor trout. The est way to rig the worms is on a 1/8 jighead, and the dough on a size 6 baitkeeper hook with a split shot sinker 8″ up from the bait. It depends where the bass will be, if it has been hot and is hot, they will mos likely be deep, of ledges in the middle. At night, dawn, and dusk, they will be in the shallows. Also, bass will also be in cover, such as fallen trees. Trout will be deep of ledges in the middle. I think that covered everything.

  • Trout feed on different things at different times of the day, and different seasons, different weather and when the water is at different temperatures. You normally need a wide selection of different baits and try them all until you find the one the Trout is currently biting on.

The best thing to do is call a resort at the lake a couple of days before you go and ask what the fish are biting on. The resort owners will be more than happy to tell you what the fish are currently biting on. If you catch fish, you will visit the lake again and they get another chance to sell you something.

Same with Bass, different baits for different conditions. Your best source of information is the resort workers that rent docks, sell bait, etc. They know what people are using and what the fish are biting on.

  • “and one bait to bind them”… A nightcrawler. Or a reside shad you probably have that option. Both baits will work well on both despite the fact that shad aren’t constantly on hand when the trout are until you fish deep with them. As GMB says, they are two wholly distinctive fish with one of a kind life and feeding habits. L have gotten lake rainbows on plastic worms though when fishing for bass.
