In athletic fights, such as the UFC, your on a mat or soft surface, so skills such as BJJ or wresting are handy, but in street fighting, your often on of asphalt, pavement, or concrete so you would hurt yourself more than your opponent. If you want to learn to street fight and your not looking to kill anyone, boxing is probably your best bet. Most fights don’t last long, and if you know how to throw and take a punch, you will probably be able to win against most street thugs, and like I said, experience and practice is the best way to improve (I’m not saying go fight or hurt anyone). As for your body, big muscles are great for intimidation but they are almost useless in a real fight, why? Because most of the muscles you develop at the gym are muscles that aren’t really used in fighting. The truth is, with out gloves or protection, if you know where to hit and how to hit, moderate muscles will work just fine. Another reason big muscles aren’t good is flexibility, which is just as important at strength. Do gymnastics and boxing. If your really serious do Muay Thai (I seriously doubt you will be able to find a serious place to learn this, unless you live in or plan on living in Thailand), the basics of BJJ, and gymnastics. Gymnastics will build you a great body to start with, and sparing in Boxing/Muay Thai/BJJ will fine tune it into a great body for fighting.
